Covers interesting terrain with 3 major ascents. Can save 12 miles by taking Berme> Institution Rd> Plank Rd> 55> 55A> Yagerville Rd. If so, fluid stop at Peters on 209 just before turn onto 55, bypassing Plank Rd On the return, consider taking the Hudson Valley Rail Trail off S Riverside Ave, the left off of New Paltz Rd from 299. Route 52 is less than perfect for bicycles, with a narrow shoulder and traffic, but gets you out to Walker Valley quickly. To do this ride you need daylight and speed. Tackling Route 52 early will ameliorate its drawbacks. The deli in West Shokan on 28A might or might not be open.
