No Escape New York Ride in 2020, after all.

Sadly, we have to announce that - in an abundance of caution - the NYCC Board has decided that this year’s Escape New York ride is canceled.

We may do one or more virtual rides on the day, or even some small group rides of the routes in September, but the main event as you knew it, and as we have been working to re-imagine it, is off.

Throughout the Spring, we hoped that Covid would give us a break in September and/or that a smaller ride could proceed in small groups at various distances and speeds on a socially-distanced basis. Ultimately, it proved to be more than we could put together in the time remaining with the resources at hand. Sometimes even where there is a will, there isn’t a way.

Registrants will have the option to request a refund, roll-over their registration to next year or donate their payment to our two charities: Kids Ride Club and I Challenge Myself - both having very difficult years.

Details on how all that will work will follow, once we work them out. Please be patient.

Finally, we want to thank all of you for your patience, good cheer and commitment to the Club throughout this year of the plague. Many are riding, some with the Club, others alone and some not at all. We respect each individual member’s decision on that, but, nevertheless, we look forward to seeing you on the road in the days and weeks ahead.
